Don't sweat the lacking of updates thing... We're sill in the same boat. I'm traveling right now, and stooped at a In-N-Out for lunch.
Should be home soon to clean the tank up and get back at it.

Thanks, Flip! I knew you were traveling too -- looking forward to seeing your update.
I forgot to mention that there are literally thousands and thousands of little pods all over the glass (on both the Envision and ADA)! Nice to see the pod seeding and patience (keeping it fish free for 6+ weeks) paid off.

Very informative, thanks! I started mixing the salt yesterday before rolling the bucket and about half way through mixing, I rolled the bucket. I woke up to a cloudy mixing reservoir today, so I guess I'll be holding off on doing the water change for a few days. Not a huge deal, but really happy that you posted the info above Lilmatty. I tested the parameters this morning (Alk = 7.2 dkh, Cal = 420, Mg = 1400) so I just bumped up the Alk a bit using 2-part. Aiming to keep it around 9 or so. I'll continue testing and adjust the dosing (if any is necessary) accordingly.
In other news, I moved the fish from QT into the main display about 4-days ago and both the Royal Gramma and Dottyback seem to be doing alright. They're hiding a lot in between the rockwork for the most part, although, they've come out to eat and seem to be healthy. The RG's fin damage is going to take awhile to fully recover but I'm still very hopeful that he'll be near 100% soon enough.
I added a bunch of new corals yesterday! Hoping to get some decent picture of all of them to share. Here are a few actinic shots from this morning:
ORA Hawkins
It's not looking the greatest right now and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it pulls through without having to chop it up. It was a fresh cut from a LFS's colony and is, itself, a mini colony. It's gorgeous!!
Oregon Tort
Also a fresh cut from the same LFS. Just a baby frag for now but will be fun to watch grow out.
Green Birdnest
This one is just too cool under actinics -- even though it's really common, I had to have one:
I also picked up the following:
-- Wild Aussie Tabling Acro (this is a mini-colony with a bright green rim where it's encrusing and looks like it's going to have some red/deep pink in it too. Should be fun to watch color up)
-- A stag with a deep green base and Teal tips
-- A strawberry-shortcake/limeaid looking table (another fresh cut from the LFS mentioned above)
-- Two Bright red mushrooms for the ADA (although one went missing last night -- so I'm kinda bummed)
I moved the duncans, the neon nepthia and the pink/blue chalice over to the ADA (the new red mushrooms went in the ADA, too). I haven't been able to get a good FTS of the ADA with the new light over it yet -- I'll keep trying though! This is the only picture that turned out alright under the LED lighting (sorry for posting so many pictures of this same coral):
yup no problem. glad you were able to test everything and it seems pretty good for ya also. glad your RG & BD are doing good too love your new coral addition. i cant wait to get my 150 up and running.

Thanks Marvin! A snail moved the Hawkins so I had to pick it up anyway and gave it a little shake to get some of the slime/receding tissue off of it and I think it's looking better than early this morning. Keeping my fingers crossed for now and a close eye on it. If I have to do some emergency fragging, I will -- but it's my last resort. I knew that the Hawkins didn't take dips well so it's the only coral that didn't get the Bayer DIY dip yesterday. All the other corals looked good during full spectrum, polyps were out in full-effect!
I hung the Razor tonight! It's going to take me awhile to figure out the sweet spot for editing pictures under the LEDs so give me some slack. The legs that come with the light, leave the fixture about 6" off the water or so, but I've read that this thing is pretty intense so I'm going to raise it up 10" to get more coverage and allow for better viewing as you stand over the aquarium. Also, on that same note, I've capped the intensity at 45%W and 68%B. I'll raise it slowly, however, there aren't any corals that need high PAR so, this may very well be adequate. Take a look:

Regarding the fish list, yeah I just picked up a few me additions, but this time it's going to be a surprise! Won't be long for the reveal...they're looking super healthy and were in the LFS for over 4.5 months without any signs so should be a quick QT! I'm on the lookout for dwarf angels locally but everyone's fish stock has been way down due to shipping issues around the holidays. I might make a few special requests. I'm also looking for a mystery wrasse and melanarus wrasse. One of the LFSs has two pairs of flame wrasses, but they both have ICH really bad. If I found a juvi goldflake or regal angel, I'd be inclined to jump on it.
Anyway, have a fantastic New Years Eve everyone and be safe!

I just went threw this whole thread . Very nice work n gear .
I am surprised the ATB v2 didn't have the dc controllable pump or the option for it . They can be bought that way now . It could be a decent swap down the road .
The Red Sea Pro Salt is great if you don't carbon dose and like running a higher alk. It also helps a lot when new SPS frags are chewing ur alk . It never clouded up on me when I used it .
The price went up on RSCP so I switched to Kent Salt which has some pretty high numbers n mixes clear quick . 200 gallon bucket at the lfs for 50.00..
Hope the fish are doing well . Gold flakes are pretty cool fish .

Thanks for checking in Lilbuddha! I may check out the dc pump down the road. So far I've just done one water change with the RSCP but I'm gearing up to do another one tonight -- mixed up without a problem this last time after rolling the bucket. I haven't read anything about not carbon dosing with RSCP. I'll look into it though, so thanks for the heads up. I got a pretty good price/source on the RSCP so hopefully things keep looking good with it. If not, I'll go back to instant ocean. All the fish are doing great and settling in. I think I'm going to transfer the new additions over tomorrow.

I was referring to a possibility of burning the tips since the alk runs 12+
on the RSCP ...
