Zoas can and will spread to any surface they can contact. So, yes they would climb up the rock.So working on my aqua scalp and trying to fit my first piece into the foundation rock and I fell in love. My question is if I left this a shelf for say a Zoa would it stay to it or do I risk it taking the base over as well as moving up the scape I build going up?

I'm working on a zoanthid study with a couple of people I'm in grad school with. I posted a link below to the survey. Basically we are contrasting zoanthid weekly growth vs tank parameters to make a zoanthid growth predictive model.
