This is normal. The Zoa is trapping the nutrients for consumption.
It was hungry. It eating.
Interesting new they closed up to eat but not that way the skirt has gone down and under rather than up and in if that makes senseIt's closing its mouth to chew it's food... Normal behavior...
ive seen this too (for long periods of time) and wondered if there was something wrong. I was under the assumption that they eat when they close up, but this is the opposite, they sort of unfold.Interesting new they closed up to eat but not that way the skirt has gone down and under rather than up and in if that makes sense
I’m from the uk and it goes by the name of granny Apple smith. Quite bizarre why it does that to be honest as I don’t even think any good landed on it.Some of them do that when you put food on them. I'm not sure why. I've even had some of a colony do that and some of the colony fold around the food. I, uh... don't think they're chewing, though. They don't have structures to chew. They just engulf food.
That's a frozen apple, right? Try putting a bit of food on top of it, see if it eats.
