Hey all

Looking to do a zoa carpet in a bare bottom build. Have 6 black box led over a 8ft 250, so plenty of par. Anyone have some pics of their bb zoa carpeting?

Not a bottom carpet but they do carpet my rocks very extensively and are now beginning to cover my back wall and my powerheads.

You may mean what is known as zoa garden. These are two versions I have:

Here's a few pics of my display at the old house. It had filled in further but no pics handy. Mine was not bare bottom and I'd advise against putting them directly on glass. Zoas will eventually grow into each other which is not a big deal in and of itself. However, over the 4-5 life span of that Aquarium I found it necessary to pull colonies occasionally for trimming and more often for dipping/disease prevention. That tank was a 220gal. At some point you pass a threshold where you need to actively work on stuff and that's more difficult to do through 28" or 30" of water inside the tank. If you're cool with some stuff flaming out occasionally then disregard.

Pics are iphone 6 circa 2017/2018.
