I had a great zoa colony growing and just a little while ago they have started to close up and I think even melting has occurred. It only started with a few and then zoas around the tank followed the same pattern.

Parameters as of today:
Nitrate: 20 ppm
Phosphate: .25 ppm
Calcium: 440 ppm
KH Alk: 9-12 ppm
PH: 8
Salinity: 1.025

I have seen some asterina starfish on the polyps, could that be the issue? Thanks!

I have had nightmares with asterina and zoa together . Also check under plug for black bugs or any other s.

Did you dip

Asterina eat zoa. That’s your issue. They’ll slowly eat away at the colony at night and you’ll never see them most of the time until the zoa are dead. Get a harlequin shrimp or pull them out by hand. I kill every one I see
