Zoa Colony "Melting"

This rock was covered in Zoas and it seems almost overnight, decimated! I did a dip in Coral Defense and think it may have stopped the melting. I have not noticed this on others and have had this particular colony for months.
Any ideas?

Do you have spiders?

zoanthid eating spiders lay eggs in the mouth then they hatch and the zoas turn to much.

I'm really not sure about the zoa spiders. I have had that colony for months and have quite a few others, w no problems. I dipped the colony in Coral Defense last night, so will see. The rock was 100% covered until a few days ago.

Thats the only thing that I know of that will make them melt. I know there are far more experienced people here than me but im sure they will want to know your parameters and tank age.

Am thinking fungal, in which case the Coral Defense dip should catch it-I hope and if its a pest, I have not seen any evidence, other than what is going on w this rock. This has nothing to do w parameters-everything else in my 120 is fine and this tank is several years old.
