I have a fairly large colony of King Midas zoas that are not fully opening? All other colonies and frags doing well and thriving. I did a fresh water dip that my LFS advised but they are still not opening as normal. My water parameters are all good and ive also done my regularly scheduled water change. Ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate are all 0 and my pH is 8.2 The colony to the left in the pic on the big rock is the colony in question. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Do you have any fish/ inverts that could be crawling on them/ irritating them? What’s your flow level there? Did you add anything new recently? Sometimes zoas just throw a hissy fit and they’re fine in a couple of days, happened with my 100+ colony of gobstoppers

Nothing new in the tank...they just started doing this a little over a week ago? Hopefully its just temporary.

If you have 0 nutrients in the tank that might be what is contributing to them not doing well. You have many zoas in your tank so I’m sure you know this but maybe you should try to raise your nutrients by a tiny bit

How long has it been? What is your po4?
About 10 days since they started acting up. Havent tested po4 yet and currently waiting on a new test kit. I run phosguard and purigen and dont have an algae problem so I would think the po4 should be at an acceptable level, but I'll test to make sure once the kit arrives. The part I cant understand is out of 8 zoa colonies, it's the only one partially opening? I ordered some vitamin c and reef roids, so hopefully they will help.

Thanks...ordered some vitamin c and reef roids so hopefully that will liven them back up.

Running phosguard without knowing your PO4 levels is not advisable, do you know your Alk numbers?

It may or may not be related to your current issue but running low or no nutrients will probably catch up with you eventually.

FWIW.. those green hairy mushrooms will eventually overrun your tank and can be extremely difficult to remove from rock work.
