Zoa don't grow down

Is that true that most zoa don't grow down but only up the rocks. I was told to put my frags on the bottom for that reason ....any truth? thanks for your input.

All zoas are different. Corals adapt but when you find the right spot you will see it grows very nice, they look happy.
