Hello guys I just bought this drag online from Top Shelf Aquatics and it was doing very well, but today I was looking at my frat and it has a white spot on it now. Looks like one of the polyps is dying or something.

also another one of my zoas has a little red spot on its side. I dipped my corals but I’m not sure exactly what is on it.

Zoas open and close periodically. Those look okay to me. I would leave it alone and just watch it for a few days. At this point, anything you do is likely to just irritate it more.

Alright thanks I’ll keep an eye on it. Hope it is okay.

That said, how old is your tank? From the pictures it appears to be fairly new. I had no luck keeping zoas alive until my tank was about 9 months old. They would open up for the first few days then close and slowly melt away. In my opinion, they are not great starter corals. So if yours don't make it and this is a new tank, wait a few months before you try again and go with something a little hardier like toadstool leathers, green star polyps or mushrooms.

My tank is about a month and 2 weeks old it’s been a month since the cycling has been completed. I checked my water with my LFS yesterday and it was perfectly fine to keep zoas they said.

I’ll give it a try though with some leathers or mushrooms if these don’t make it thanks for the suggestion.
