So my tank is new and if I remove these 2 zoa plugs will they starve out?
Yep worked like a charm but omg they are hard to see.Easiest way to remove them is wait for middle of the night, lighrs our completely pitch black dark in room and in tank, and then use a bright flashlight and look at the zoas
They come out at night and you can suck them off with a baster
Dip might get them but I never tried. I successfully saved two large colonies with the flashlight / baster method, a few nights in a row
Nothing but zoanthid.Yep worked like a charm but omg they are hard to see.
The big question is what else do they eat?
I have a plug with palys on it a duncan,star polyps,and a mummy chalice
Tank is so young and so few coral I might throw these 2 colonies out because you know they had to have laid eggs
Do they eat palys?Nothing but zoanthid.
Zoanthid eating nudi become the color of the zoa they eat.
Orange oxide zoa? You will have neon orange nudi. If they do not have any color, you got them before they ate
I would just check nightly for a week or two. Dip once or twice. Your frags will be saved
It's a shame they eat zoas, they look so beautiful after they ...eat zoas.
I don’t believe they eat palys.Do they eat palys?
I got a total of 4 last night while the lights were off
If only I bought some zoa and found…berghia nudibranch! I’d be so happyIt's a shame they eat zoas, they look so beautiful after they ...eat zoas.
IMHO those are worth going out of your way to get, but I don't want to derail this thread...If only I bought some zoa and found…berghia nudibranch! I’d be so happy
You can do it!Well I am gonna keep these coral and hope I can get them all.
This has been a battle as the zoas have grown to the rock and I would have to tear them off.
Been getting them at night but just like one every few nights.
These guys are ultra small!!
Just knowing these guys are there drives my ocd bonkers
No it's on big huge rock that is bonded togetherIs the rock dipable ?

Yeah they are so hard to get and see but yeah I am hoping the end is near.If your only finding one every few nights it sounds like you are winning the battle and you just have a few eggs to wait out and stragglers left behind
