Hey everyone! Added my first frag about 5 days ago. It opened up fully the next morning. I dipped it in Coral Fx prior to introducing.

Yesterday I noticed the Polyp at the front looking a little sad at times...I fed it Reef Roids a little for the first time yesterday. Other than that one in the front (does open a little but like I said looks a little "sad" lol) the others seem happy and awake and lively. Should I be concerned? Or just ride it out for a little bit?

In one of the pics I wanted to show what they look like closed first thing when the lights first go on in the morning. Followed by the pics when they start to open:)

I mostly have blues, and a soft white (for a few hours) running 12 hours.

PH 8.2 ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 0 alk 8.2 temp 77

Have had the tank up and running about 4 months now.

Just starting to open for the day...but like I said the one in the front, is it just me or does it seem sad?

Looks like you have a aiptasia hiding among the zoas, you'll want to eradicate it quickly before ot spreads. Aiptasia-x by red sea has worked for me.

Oh God. I live in Canada. I'll have to check what we have.

I would just let it retract then put a blob of superglue over it. Everything else seems to just make it spread.

Thanks for the reply. I'm new to this hobby. Haven't yet attempted to glue anything just as yet. Would need something relatively easier to help manage unwanted pests.

glue is pretty easy. Anything else you do will cause a plague. You could also throw the frag away. it is that serious

do not use aiptasia x all it does is make it spread. super glue is your best friend. All you have tio do is take frag out of water while knowing where the aiptasia is. Once out of water it will be hard to see aiptasia but u would know the general area put a small dot of super glue over that area and stick back in tank. super easy and painless :)

Easiest would be to mix kalkwasser with water into a thin paste and inject via syringe into the center core and aptasia will melt away !!
