Why my zoantid goes like this ?

A lot of soft corals with big polyps (like zoanthids, green star polyps, xenia) grow with a mat underneath them that connects them all. That is what is in the middle. It's just a part of them

As my personal experience, could be because of light, flow or some pest... try moving to another location. Other thing you could do it's a fresh water dip. Sometimes I place some under the water current in the kitchen...
