The umbrella syndrome occurs a lot of time with certain zoas I don't think anyone really knows why it happens sometimes it's not enough ligh or too much light it's hard to pinpoint the cause how old is the frag?

I think its been in my tank for about 2 weeks total but its only been mounted to the rock in that spot for about a week. Is this "umbrella syndrome" something that will kill it?

Ive got a Kessil a360we on 30% about a foot over the surface of the water. The zoa is about 6" under the surface and 6" out from where i would say the center "hot spot" if you will, of the light is.

There is a 3 head orange hornet about 2" lower that is just fine and a rasta that is 2" higher that is closed so you might right that it is to much light. Ill see about possibly turning down my light to 25% and see how they react and then possibly moving them lower.

Good luck I think everything has been tried sometimes it works, sometimes not, sometimes they live, sometimes not lol
