zoa help fungus or what?!?

I have this funky colored stuff on a zoa colony I recently got for very inexpensive it does not want to open up much at all. What is this stuff? I also have a nudi problem and will be dipping all my zoas soon.

Looks like a sponge

it will scratch off with a fingernail just don't want it to be anything I should worry about.

If it is a sponge then it's harmless

It will outgrow and kill the zoas. You can remove it with tweezers

I can't say what yours will do but I have some large zoa/pally colonies with sponges intermixed and have never had any problems with the two competing for space ...now that's not to say it will never happen but these colonies are several years old I believe and still no problems
