try to baste the film off or brush it off with a tooth brush. You might want to start dosing vitamin C as well...

Make sure you have them at or near the bottom of the tank in low light. I would also recommend dosing iodine to help the zoas recover. Also like Ian said, Brightwell Aquatics Vitamin C would not be a bad choice.

what makes them better off at the bottom compared to the top???i have them on the top on a frag rack....?? just wanted to know

drop em down, same thing just happened to me. I raised up my light quite a bit too.

Whenever you get new frags/corals especially when shipped it's best to start them on the bottom to acclimate to the new lighting. With zoa's some people just run actinic for the day they get them to lessen stress.
Corals get stressed when shipped so you don't want to go from darkness to bright light real quick.
After being on the bottom for a few days or longer you can gradually move them up.

so after i acclimate them to the new lighting.....how long do yall think i should leave them in low light for...??? 1 week???

I have had the brown film several times over the years and have a prtty easy solution. I use a small 4 inch round by 2 inch deep glass bowl. Fill it 3/4 full and 1 drop of Lugol's and mix it in. Drop in zoa and let sit 5 minutes then scrape the brown film off with tweezers. Pay more attention to polyp heads than the mat because the film keeps polyp from opening. I try to do this right before lights out so it gets to be in the dark all night. Put in good flow and usually the next day all is well. If not do it again in 2-3 days, but usually works with just one time for me.
