Picked this up today because it looked like it had more pink in it, but now that I brought it back it looks similar to my radioactive dragoneye. Any idea?

Man that's upsetting. Looked completely different at the LFS.

:( I hear ya.
Always ask if they can run a daylight spectrum on it before you buy.
Remember that LFS are there to sell their stuff and the better it looks to the eye the more they sell.
When we had the first frags swaps 30 years ago most of them were using the same lights we had as over our tank about in the range of 12K now they run it all in the 20K, the more blue light the more they sell.

Good idea! I know the store I bought this from does not run any whites. The other store in town runs considerably more whites on their frag tank.

They probably run whites, but they run a program before the store opens. Ultimately, there intent is to wow the senses and make a buck. Look at all the mariculture pieces that come in. People buy them and aren't experienced, well they'll end up with pests or the coral dies.
