I don't think so. For some reason it doesn't open that much. They are less bright then blue glow zoas.Looking like blue glow zoas
I initially thought it was a sponge as well— but then I saw in the second pic, with blue lights, it definitely looks like aiptasia or a pest nem!Not sure if that's an aiptasia or just some sort of sponge. Either way, it's probably annoying them. Zoas that don't open all the way can generally be assumed to have something bothering them.
Its aiptasia. How do I get rid of it?I initially thought it was a sponge as well— but then I saw in the second pic, with blue lights, it definitely looks like aiptasia or a pest nem!
You can find medication for aiptasia, use a peppermint shrimp, or, using a syringe, inject the polyp with lemon juice. Its aiptasia. How do I get rid of it?

The first zoa I bought was last year in November so I'm quite new to zoas. Going to try fragging zoas soon as I have a zoa colony. Thank you so much!Okay the fact that the polyps fell off is actually a good thing. It’s pretty common when a person uses bad glue or not enough, the zoas end up falling off its not dangerous or anything they’ll be fine and I actually like my zoas growing on the bottom. Just a little superglue gel on the bottom of the zoas (not where the polyp opens) and you can re-glue it to whatever you want.
anyway, about the aptasia. Since it came off with the zoas we know that they’re inside the zoas which is good and bad. Good because it’s easier to remove since zoas are very flat and non-porous so the aptasia has nowhere to hide. Bad because there may be babies you can’t see yet. I would take a razor blade and scrape the aptasia off while being VERY CAREFUL to not damage the zoa. It should look like a small black dot when you take the zoas out of the water to do this. Please exercise proper safety when you’re dealing with zoas!!! Act like its a jalapeño, don’t touch your eyes/nose/mouth after handling, and don’t breathe in any fumes. If you smell something weird, your nose burns, you get lightheaded, anything like that get fresh air immediately. It shouldn’t be a big deal to do this but it seems like you’re very new to zoas so be careful your first time in case you’re allergic.
okay, with all that said, they look like radioactive dragon eye zoas. They’re beginning to morph which is really cool to watch, look like they’re turning pinkish in the center which is the same thing mine are doing. Good luck with them
