I am setting up a 24 gallon aqua pod. 2 32watt PCs, 20 inches deep. My thoughts were to have Ricordea and Zoas in the tank. Is this a good plan? Enough light? Are the 2 compatible? Thanks
Mark

Yup rics and zoas dont need too much light and the zoas that do need more light you can always put them higher in the tank depending on your rock work and if you have a frag rack.

Thanks for the welcome. My plans were to go bare bottom. I was going to tile the bottom with frag tiles and let the Zoas spread to cover the bottom. Rics on the rock. Thanks again fro the welcome.

They will do OK in that setup, but I have to warn, your zoanthids will not look as good as the pictures you see of them in the for sale threads and online retailers.
Most use mh or T-5 lighting which brings out the colors much better than pc lighting.

Should be good. I myself prefer the MH's so I would probably upgrade to an MH...something like a 150w or something. But that should work too.

I had a 150w 20k over a 12g and had no problems. I ran the MH for 10 hours a day. But it was also almost 10 inches off the top

That is very cool. I am planning to stock this pod with Ricoreda and Zoas. I know the Rics will do fine with Pcs . I am not familiar with Zoas though. If I was to grow the Zoas out on the bottom of the tank will there be enough light?

you should be fine. I only up'd to get a faster growth rate.

I am getting kind of anxious to get this pod going. That sucks because a loss of money usually follows this feeling.

LOL.....I hear that. Read my signature....didn't take me too long to figure that one out.

Thanks....actually thanks to upgrading the light to the 150 I got to upgrade tanks to a 36g. Then upgraded to a 250 and thanks to that I am now at a 72g. Maybe I should upgrade my lights again. Seems to make money that way.
