I have 4 different zoa colonies that suddenly closed up and stayed closed. 2 of the colonies receded. Started about 4 or 5 weeks ago.Haven't seen any signes of pest or anything like that. I did do a peroxide dip on them and have seen some improvements. Those 4 have been in my tank longer than any other zoas I have. Their is at least 15 other zoa frags in the tank. Did put new twizzler frag in tank...one 6 polyp and one 2 polyp frag in tank. Only one polyp survived. Have never had any issues like this before.
All parameters are normal
Just looking for thoughts that could cause this.

I have had same issue with 3 to 4 frags out of 60+ zoa frags... all been in the tank for months with no new frags of of late.

There was a thread several years ago... I believe here or on BRS..
That the discussion was a cycle that happens in mid-winter where Zoa frags for some reason go thru this die and regen phase.

Many people at the time chimed in with the same issue... whether it has to do with evaporation tolerances or some other reaction to the change in temp or outside lighting.... voodoo or moon cycles..lol
Either way your not alone.

But if you begin to see small white dots that seem to get bigger - that's zoa pox... get the infected frags out and keep them out treat and put in another tank...
This stuff will wipe out entire tank if left to populate.

Lol it was just so strange. They were nice healthy colonies and out of nowhere they just started looking like crap. I was super excited about my new twizzler frag. Put that thing in and thats when it happened. Luckily one polyp surcived on that one.
