Zoa issues, PAR, Flow,

So I’ve had zoas many times and I’ve never been able to nail their light because they usually seem unhappy. I got these new zoas which looked great in the store but now, nope. I’ve put them on the sand in various places, on a higher rock in the sand, in my frag rack, no changes. Idk if a pic would help. All my corals are happy so it’s strictly a zoa typa thing.

Can you measure PAR where they are located? I have some zoas that are in about 175PAR and they are growing like crazy.

- if needed, indicate by drawing a line around the area in question.

I measured when I got my new light and the bottom was at around 120-150 which is high for what I want to keep. Just ordered acans so the light is going dimmer. That being said idk where to put them bc I want my main rock to be for torches. I’ve heard zoas go from 50-300 par.. unfortunately my zoas don’t like my light

I understand. And in some cases, all that info isn't required, but it became enough of an issue to where the medics drew up the information list because members were giving little or nothing to go on. And really a lot of people asking the questions do not know what is important and what is not. I actually have this list posted on a notepad for my own use if/when I ever need it. Then I don't have to search it out or waste their time with unnecessary back and forth posts! Yay me lol!!!!

I agree it is just zoas but supplying possibilities for others to look at and possibly see something might be good.
I was wondering about the fish stuff myself though.
Par seems ok for most zoas. Is sand being kicked up on them? Is the shrimp messing with them? Do you have a closer/better white light pic?

Give them time. Mine didnt grow and spread for months now they are growing at a fantastic rate. Remember reef tanks take time.

For several years after entering the hobby I could not keep zoas and even gsp would die while I was able to keep leathers, lps and some easy sps. I have no idea why so I just quit trying them. It was frustrating because zoa and gsp were supposed to grow like weeds.
