So I've been doing a lot of reading/ talking about zoa lighting. Lots of people believe that running zoas under all blues with a short white period is the best way since the blues really help the zoa colors develop and pop. Some say run only blues! Others say to run the whites and blues at separate time such as whites from 9-12 and blues from 12-6. Running both at higher outputs. And others still like the normal mixture of the two Channels at lower intensity.
I'm trying to decide what to do with the lighting on my zoa frag tank. I usually run the mixed channel option but I feel as though my zoas could have more pop to their color.
What are your opinions on the matter? What have you found to produce the best growth/ color. It's on my frag tank in the garage so looks don't play a huge role. I want results in growth/color.
Thanks!

I would also love to learn more about it. I, am running 10hrs blue and 6 hours whites (so both on for 6hrs) Running the blues at 60% and whites at 30%. So far, all of my zoas stayed or improved their colors and have seen some growth nothing major.

Well, about running all blues, that's what my LFS do with zoa frag section along with Acans.

I say with zoas and leds I've experimented a little in my frag tanks and I've tried whites, white and blues and just blues. If you keep all 3 different ootions at the same par with whites and blues they do better in growth. With blues only they color a little better but growth is not as good.

Exactly as above. I do run my whites every other day for about 4-5 hours.

So you guys would agree that blues help produce the best coloring while white produce the best growth?

If you want to know more about the spectrum of led chips and what they promote then i suggest reading up on Orpheks website.
There is a ton of information there when it comes to spectrum and chlorophyll

Do they show different growth comparisons? Or just a buch of mumbo with no proof? Sounds interesting

might be a little out of place but I loved it when I ran red, green and a few different white and blues too
