Zoa morph

My burning embers under same condition as the black rainbows. They lack the distinct ring of the other strain. That screen grab is also impossibly saturated. It’s full-on gilding the lily on an already beautiful zoa.

Here’s pics of el corazon/after burners and mind tricks for comparison.

You can name the darker one “burnt ash” (going off the ember idea) or “Smoked zoa”
Just some fun little suggestions! Congrats :) my goal is to eventually have a new zoa morph as well!

So how does naming work?

Generally names come from whoever ‘introduces’ the zoa whether it’s a hobbyist or a vendor. Often they’ll brand it ergo ARC, CC, CB, TSA etc. There’s no authority control so occasionally you have names being reused. You’ll also seen names misapplied due to minor mutable differences. There’s no established naming conventions so you can call stuff whatever you want.

That said, it’s best practice to look at every possible ID before naming something. Reason is two fold- first, you’re likely to get a better ROI if you can say with certainty ‘this is this’ rather than ‘I named it.’ Second, there’s nobody that polices zoa names, however, it makes it easier among collectors and hobbyists if we have a common name to work with. I see people wanting to rename ‘Green Bay packers’ morphs all the time. In that case it just comes across as foolish.

A book could be written about naming zoas that probably very few people would want to read. So, it’s best to use sound judgement when finding a name that fits vs naming or renaming something.

Morphs are awesome. My first morph was between rainbow incinerators and WWC Nirvanas, I called them Funky Pups.
