prob, matters if they are just running a softie tank they may get away with it but definitely not the best choice of lighting

it may work for softies… but they will be dull to look at for sure lol

I have been looking for a "true" red. Not orange-red (like bloodsuckers) or kind of red. I got Kedds Reds, but mine are tiny. Do you think these might be what I am looking for?

Well, it is definitely more red than bloodsuckers (I have those) and even the keds reds, though it's more similar to those (I had those but they were overtaken LOL). They're still a 'warmer' red, but more red than the others IMO.

I just received mine yesterday. No pic with the whites on, but here it is under blues, no filter.

Lights are on, and I take it back. They're pretty orange-y still. Pretty, but more orange than red. Tried to get a decent picture but couldn't get one that matched reality.

The good news is that it opened up. If it’s not related to the blues, then give it a few weeks to acclimate to your lighting. It should begin to color up during this time. If it doesn’t try raising it a bit in your aquarium so that it gets more lighting intensity.
