Any guesses on the top middle colony?

Will the Paly on the bottom right outgrow the other Zoas, given enough time? Should I try to take part of the rock they’re on so they’re easier to maintain?

Really appreciate the help

the palys and green clove will grow the fastest, especially the clove. Typically, corals will take the path of least resistance and will grow into empty space before trying to fight another coral. Keeping that in mind, you have one colony that cannot grow anywhere and it will either die or kill the colonies around it as it tries to grow. Personally, I would try to separate the colonies but it is totally up to you.

That makes sense. I have no problem separating the colonies so they have room to grow.

Is there anything I should look out for when separating them? Anything I need to worry about? I’ll search for how to separate them but wanted to see if you had any pointers

Not really anything special. If you’re not already familiar with palytoxin then I’d say basically handle them the same as hot peppers (don’t rub your eyes, don’t breathe in fumes, don’t let them squirt you in the eye, etc). I would use a razor to score the flesh in between the different colonies then use a bandsaw or hammer+chisel/screwdriver to break the rock. Quick dip in a bucket of saltwater and optional iodine dip then back in the tank. Good luck!

Thank you!

Going to tackle this one Monday. Plan to use a razor and hammer/chisel.

Really appreciate the help.

You have any idea on the top middle unknown colony?

Thanks again!

The colony below cherries and berries is impressive. Love to know the name of those.
