Hello all. I recently started my tank and added two types of paly's (pretty sure they're paly's). They opened up within 3 hours and looked great for a day or two. However, they started doing the full invert and now the Milky Ways aren't even opening. The nuclear venom something or others are opened but looking wavy.
Summary of observations:
- All coral was added four days ago
- Venom polyp (just one of two) started inverting daily usually after 6-8 hrs of light.
- Venom polyps (both) appearing wavy today
- Milky Way polyp (one of four) seemed unhappy first and would near-invert or just not open after 2-3 days of seeming fine
- All Milky Way polyps are remaining closed
What I've done so far:
I'm using AI Prime LED lighting. Light is approx 9.5" above the surface of the water. From water surface to the top of the sand bed is ~15". Zoas are on the sand bed along the right side of the tank in what I believe is a low-flow area.
Lights were originally set to 60% UV/Violet/Royal/Blue and 25% Green/Red/White
I bumped that down to 40% UV/Violet/Royal/Blue and 20% Green/Red/White.
The coral was at the bottom of my tank and, in addition to lowering the light intensity, I moved the Milky Ways (the ones doing worse of the two) into a shaded area.
I also moved the Milky Ways to a spot with less flow from where they were (they were originally in a lower flow area).
I seeded my tank with Tisbe pods 4 days ago. The pods seem to be doing well and I've kept the coral under close observation and haven't seen any on the pods.
I have a Torch in there that was added at the same time. It seems to be doing great (it pooped yesterday!).
Params:
Ammonia and Nitrites are 0ppm. Nitrates are under 5ppm.
Any suggestions? Think I should hold tight? I've just noticed a lot of changes in the last four days and I'm new at this. Thanks in advance.
Sorry the pics uploaded chronologically out of order. I commented each picture with a time frame.
These are the Milky Ways today
Wavy petals appeared today on the Venoms
Originally they seemed very happy for a few days (added to tank four days ago)

The arrow is pointing to the first polyp that wouldn't open. That polyp seemed unhappy for a couple days before the others started to follow. This pic was two days ago.
Happy torch (hoping it stays that way)
