Pests or Detritus? So my Rainbow Infusion frag was looking great and even produced a new polyp. But, this week it starting looking unhappy. It was dipped prior to placement about a month ago. I examined during the day for parasites and didn't see anything, but this morning I went in with a flashlight with lights off and saw these white specs. I tried to suck some off with a turkey baster, but I really couldn't get any to examine closely.

Does this look like a pest or just detritus?

try maybe a burst of water using something like a turkey baster? see if it blasts it clean? it sorta looks like it could be sick...(Edit, saw you did try a turkey baster in your original post), maybe try putting in hydrogen peroxide or iodine, those are the two i use.

for example: last time i dipped some sick looking zoas, i used 1/4 cup of tank water, added 10 drops of iodine, and let them soak for about 5 - 10 minutes.

i don't know what others dose, but this is just what i've ended up doing through trail and error.

It blew off with a turkey baster, I actually tried to suck it off so I could look at it under a microscope, but it blew away.

I blew it it clean with a baster and then I did a Iodine dip last night. It was bit perkier this morning. I'm wondering if it could be bacterial/fungal rather than pest related.
