Zoa placement

Acclimating all corals is never a bad thing to do, it won’t hurt to put all new corals starting in the sand bed and slowly working them where you want them.

Most Zoa you can put anywhere in the tank. I would definitely acclamate them if your new to keeping them. I (Personally) have found zoa do best for me in higher light
Be careful with this though. I put some zoas who were reaching for light at the top of my biocube 32 led and they shrunk and got burned pretty bad. Everyone says the LEDs suck in my tank so if you’ve got more powerful lights I’d be careful. Or maybe the new LEDs are stronger. Idk. For me, too much light and too high leads to small polyp size and issues with zoa burning. Only thing I can keep high zoa wise is my rainbow incinerators.

yes, it’s definitely a little risky but if you slowly acclamate them to the higher light they can do well.

I would personally not try this at anyone’s first go around with zoa just to be on the safe side.
