Im continuing to lose zoa frags and colonies due to a bacterial infection.
Furan-2, the sureway to treat them, was discontinued (and was never available here anyway) so im looking for a alternative:
Peroxide dip - no effect
Iodine dip - no effect
Coral rx dip - no effect
Reef Flux (fluconazole) - maybe tiny improvement but nothing significant.

Copper sulphate/ Ethacridine lactacte - don't know the results for now but i guess - no effect because of its ineffectiveness agains gram negativ bacteria (which are the main culprit of zoa pox).

My last hope is Doxycycline. But should i even bother to get it? I've read that it gets neutralized by calcium ions, so it isn't actually recommended for saltwatwer treatments, but it is effective against gram negative bacteria.

Anyone has any other ideas? It's getting really frustrating to watch my collection melt away.

Maybe this?

Maybe i should have been more specific that with "here" meant my country.

No i cannot get nitrofurazone here no matter what packaging it comes in. That's why im looking for alternatives.

Ah sorry to hear that. In US we can't get Furan2 specifically but things like this are available still.

I have read that chemiclean seems to have some success in treating zoa pox.
It is now available from one single trader in my country (for twice the price you Americans are paying). But the 6g package would be probably enough for life or at least some decades.

But i don't wanna pay this extortion price if it doesn't work. Has anyone experience with it? What is the active ingredient?
