I'm not well versed on zoa diseases. After keeping mostly sps for the past few years I have downsized and am now keeping zoas. I have a couple zoas that haven't been opening up well lately so I did a Lugols dip this morning to inspect for anything. I found nothing on the ones I dipped pest wise. But upon looking at the picture below I noticed these spots.

I inspected all the rest of my zoas and these below are the only other ones that show anything on them

Any ideas? Is it zoa pox? I know about the furan2 dip, so I may order some today just as a precaution. What are the causes of zoa pox?

Ive never seen it develop the brown like that but looks to be fungal, i dip all my zoas in furan 2 plus freshwater prior to pulling in my display, try taking them out and scrape it off

Could be the iodine stained it brown..

Is it on any colony that did not get an iodine dip?

I didn't dip the green and purple ones. After finding those spots on the top zoas I inspected all of my zoas, I only found anything (the white dots) on the green and purple ones in my entire tank. I only dipped five different zoa frags out of the probably 20+ I have in the tank.

The purple and green ones have been staying open just fine also. I've had these zoas for a few months now and have never noticed anything, I guess that's not to say it wasn't there.
