I know I've seen a thread on here about this but can't find it...

Any ideas what could be causing this polyp to turn down like this? It's been like this almost from the time I got it in March. I move it about every 2-3 weeks to see if I can find a place it likes. As you can see all the other colonies are doing great. Even the little baby will do it occasionally...I'd bumped it while cleaning the class and the baby had retracted and was just starting to come back out.

I used to get these when my zoa tank was new. People Eaters, both Hawaiian version and otherwise are prone to doing this. i am trying to remember how i fixed. check your mag and iodine levels.

I've tried everything from full shade to right under the lights and always the same. Mag has always been right around 1290...don't have an iodine tester. The tank finishe cycling around the end of March. This is the only one that does this...all the others are just fine.

I do 5g weekly (75g tank) . I'll have to test parameters this evening.

I've also had the same experience with both PE's and Hawaiians doing the umbrella thing. Also some God of Wars I had. And it would be just all the polyps always just one or two in a colony.
