So I got this utter chaos maybe 2 weeks ago. It was opened up and looking amazing up until Sunday. It’s been closed since Sunday and then today I went home on my lunch break to check on the tank and noticed this sticking out of the side? I have other zoas in the tank doing great, popping polyps left and right, all in generally the same location on the same rock. It is glued to the rock but should we take it out and dip it or just let it go??
Ammonia 0
Nitrates 5-10
Nitrites 0
Didn’t check phosphate after last nights water change
Temp is holding steady and heaters are set at 79-79.5
Salinity is pretty steady around 33.5 with Hanna checker. (we have an ATO so there aren’t huge fluctuations)

I did feed brs reef chili and amino acids last night (I usually do this once a week and like I said; all other zoas are doing really well… bloodsucker we got with 2 polyps and it now has 10 and has only been in the tank a month) 4716D709-F870-4DA7-939B-B1B64C3236EA.jpeg 2A79929A-2ABD-4593-8D13-61A8CF1AE322.jpeg

Honestly it kind of looks like the mouth of the zoa protruding outward?
Mmm maybe take a pic in white light ? Sometimes zoas release zooxanthellae when there acclimating.

And check to see if it has a zoa eating nudibranch on it here’s and example of one I found on my zoas it ate 2 heads and looked exactly like one

Zoa eating nudibranches? I would try to grab it with forceps and drop in a dish for closer inspection

I don’t think that’s it. The zoa is that color naturally, it’s an utter chaos so it’s bright. I did dip it before we put it in the tank already. And when I touched it earlier with tweezers it didn’t move.

Maybe it’s just part of the ‘skirt’ hanging out, like it’s not fully closed and letting a few frills hang still ‍♂️
I’m zoa eating nudibranch paranoid lol
