Zoa question

Hey guys, yesterday I mixed a blend of reefroids, poly booster, and phyto plankton. Mixed it up and target fed. Corals really looked happy. I have a few zoas that are still closed up since the feeding yesterday. Any idea as to why.

Be careful feeding with this mixture as it is easy to overfeed tank spiking nitrates .Recommend a precise feeding schedule. Did you recently add them to your tank? Water parameters?

I feed 2x per week, everything looks good after feeding except one or two small zoa that are closed.

Nitrate 2
Phosphate-.13 gfo is running
Nitrite 0
Ammonia 0
Mag 1280

I’m sure it will just take time, usually they open right back up. Just didn’t know if the mixture is a bad thing.

The mixture is great . I recent had evil hearts zoa's that would only open about 2/3 for 3 weeks due to my PO4 running 0.12ppm. I changed chemipure elite bag and within 48hrs they were fully open. The high PO4 only seem to have affected 1 out of 13 zoas I have. Did you recently move them or change lighting ? I have notice since having my tank different strains and prior environment effect overall growth a d health with zoa & palys.

I just ordered an avast reactor along with the high capacity gfo. That should do the trick. Thanks for the input I’m sure/hope they open cause one of them is the wwc Illuminati zoas

Have you found Zoas like lower nutrients overall? I have had 0 nitrates and 0 phosphate for some time and have slowly started to raise them. I have Nitrates at 2 and Phosphates at 0.08

Lower nutrients I have leave your zoas missing what they love.
