Guys I went to a new LFS today is search of some new stuff. They had a ton of Zoas there including one I was looking for. Fruit Loops. I noticed right off the bat that almost all of the zoas had brown skirts. So my question is: Can Zoas recover their color from the brown skirts? Or just being brown in general? I have had acros and montis regain/change color but never zoas.

I would also bet its from the lighting. Not that the lighting is causing the skirts to brown, just that the lighting is not reflecting the color that you normally see. When you drop them in your tank they'll probably look much better immediately.

I would think that a LFS would want to use the best lighting they can regardless of price just to show off their coral they are trying to sell but thats not always the case. I have one LFS that just makes corals look dull and brown, then you bring them home and they look great. It tricks you sometimes into buying stuff you already have because theirs looks like something different. lol. I have 3 hawkins now.

You have a good point !! I can't remember for sure but I thought they were under reefbrites.
