it has been like this for a few days whenever I first got it, it open up completely so I don’t understand why it’s not opening. my other one is open fully always. Anyone have any suggestions or solutions?

Flow or lights. I run my MP40 at 40% but once in a while i run it at 100% to stir things up and then everything will open up super wide.
I tried moving my power head so they could get more flow. They seemed to close a little more so I moved it so they would get lower flow and nothing changed ☹️

If it's new just give it some time and keep it clean, especially if it was shipped. I've had new zoa colonies take a week or two to fully open
I’ve had it for almost a month now. It’s been open and seemingly happy except the past few days ☹️ It wasn’t shipped i went to my LFS.

Tried a dip and they seem to be even more closed now. All the rest of my zoas are doing great though so I don’t understand.

Is that Dino's or Cyanno on the back wall? I've seen plenty of times where zoas will not open up when signs of cyanno are present. Dino's will eventually consume corals if no action is taken.
I had a bad outbreak of cyano and started dosing Vibrant a little bit ago and it solved the cyano problem. I think it’s just green algae on the back. Maybe it doesn’t like the vibrant? But all my other zoas are doing really well.

Day 3 of not opening? My calcium is a bit high, 460. That’s it. A small polyp is coming out one the top right? Could that be why it’s not opening?

I’m not sure if that could be why. I did the coral dip on mine and it closed up more but it has been fully open the past week now For me. It just needed to be dipped and left alone in my case.

I did Flux rx treatment about 10 days ago. No bad effects on anything else? I ran carbon last night and I’m doing a big water change today, I can’t think of anything else that would be causing it. Strange that none of my others are affected though. I bought some vibrant and thought about it but saw a lot of negative feedback on it. I had a touch of what looked like bryopsis in my sump that’s why I did the Flux rx.

I just did a 20 minute Lugols dip, my lights are still off. Hopefully that helps. I haven’t done a coral rx dip yet. It looks healthy just not open

This is the last time I spend $400 on a Zoa! I can’t sleep! Thanks for the feedback!!
