I need help to come up with a simple design for my regular 29gal. I want to be all Zoa and I want to include 2 clown fish. I want to be real simple for a display tank for my living room. Thanks

Duke,
I'm not sure what you are asking for. Do you want help designing the lights and equipment or the corals?

If it were up to me I would buy a small frogspawn to host your clowns and pick your favorite zoas/palys from there. The benefit of picking a frogspawn to host your clowns is that you can always move or frag it if you need space.

My 29.... it ain't purty.....

what requirements does a frogspawn need. I think my lighting is too low, I only have pc's.

vetteman bro, i think you need to aquascape :D

duke, you might want to try designing your rocks so that it provides the most surface area for zoa exposion...since they sorta encrust on the rocks, instead of plating or branching like some other corals. also pick out LR that might look nice with zoas covering it.

I am a little confused about picking out LR that looks nice with zoas covering it, please help.

Can I do this, can I put rocks on both sides of the tank, and put my frogspawn in the middle?

hmm..like. for instance, i prefer seeing zoas covering maximum amount of surface area, so i pick out LR that is mostly flat. i don't it when they encrust branchy rocks, so i avoid tonga branch LR and whatnot. or, if you want to contain certain morph of zoas seperated in certain shapes, you might want to pick out circular shaped LR or any other shapes that you might want. like for instance...pics taken from various sources;

this person seperated their zoas on a cone shaped LR

or here, you can see zoas encrusting in flat formation onto the BB

OHHHHHHH! cool, I like that. I really want to incorporate the frogspawn into the theme somewhere.

you might want to give it a little 'cave' in the center where it won't receive much flow. youre using pc, so light shouldn't be an issue... zoas usually stay healthy in good flow, but your frogspawn might not like that too much. also avoid its 'tentacles' from stinging nearby zoas or corals when you place it.

depends on how big the froggy is. its ultimately upto you.

I just dont know if I want to go with the whole huge LR wall like everyone usually does, but then I dont to go with so little rock that the tank looks empty. I wish there were aneneomes that did not need MH.
