Last Night I happened to get up in the middle of the night and saw a "white" cloud above one of my Zoa's. I grabbed my flashlight for a better look and noticed one on the Margarita snails was stomping all over (Okay Slithering) over the top of the closed up Zoa.. Was the white cloud the Toxins from the zoa's? I grabbed a long set of Tongs I have for my tank and knocked the snail off the zoa's but he looked like he was laying there "smoking" :flame: for lack of a better word..LOL. ( This morning all margarita snails are accounted for so guessing he wasnt harmed at all.) The cloud dispersed fairly quickly in the flow of the tank and I am running Carbon. I had just done a Partial water change earlier in the day as well.. When I see something like this does it dictate another water change? Or do the toxins bother the fish, corals or invertebrate's?
This is a 40 gallon Tank if that makes a difference. My tank is a few years old but I only introduced the zoa's about 5 months ago.
Thanks

Doubtful it had anything to do with palytoxin. Sounds more like your maguerita snail was spawning...

Thank you! I have had these margarita snails in there for almost 18 months and have never seen that! And I stare at my tank-- a lot--LOL

Zoa could release it toxin when stressed. I did it to one of my frag lastnight when I try to moved it and I saw the frag released a white cloud into water and suddenly all other zoas closed tight for 1/2 hour then open again.

All palys still open as normal and will not effected by zoa toxin.
