Hey Guys,

I just moved a bunch of Zoa Frags from the far left/ bottom side of my 150 gallon tank to the far right on a home made frag rack on the sand. Some of my frags are doing well, some of them have closed and seem to be shrinking. I don't know what it is. I know my Calcium is high but I read as long as my Alkalinity is OK they should be fine, almost all of my other coral are doing well besides the ZOA.

Calcium 520/550

Alkalinity 11.8/11.9

Phosphate .5

PH 7.8/8.0

Nitrite 0ppm

Ammonia 0ppm

Nitrate : 0ppm/2.5ppm

Temperature: 26 C

Salinity 33.3 ppm

Any ideas?

I've had an aquarium for years, but just started keeping coral. So I am pretty new to this.

Is the flow much different where the zoa is now compared to where it was before?

I'd say, give it more time to acclimate to it's new spot. Some corals are quick to adapt and some take weeks.

And I think alk at 11+ is getting a bit too high. Not serious, but I wouldn't go that high.

Thanks Ron! I'll try to balance out the Calcium and Alk. The flow is roughly the same. Its interesting as to why a few of them started acting that way. I moved them back to where they were. Probably should have left them alone but didn't want to lose the frags.

Thanks again Ron!

I don't have Zoas, but some palys I have will get ticked if the nitrate is too low. Mine seem to like around 10ppm...as well as my other LPS corals.
