Really not sure what happened to this poor Safecracker polyp, but it appears to be having some trouble standing up. It has been like this all day, lights have been on for 6+ hours and it's still staring limply at the window.

Is it dying? Should I be concerned? Or is this just something that occasionally happens to all young Zoas? :thinking-face::beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes: IMG_20230117_155139.jpg

Couple questions:
1. How are your parameters?
2. How long has the tank been established?
3. how long has the frag been in that location?
4. How long have the other polyps been closed?

1. Freshly Tested with Salifert kits:

Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 2 (a little low--normal is 10)
Calcium: 435
Phosphate: 0.25
Alkalinity: 10.5
pH: 8.15
Magnesium: 1320
SG: 1.026

2. 2.5 months
3. It has not moved more than a few millimetres (slight rock adjustment) since it was placed 1.5 months ago (first frag).
4. The polyp at the back has been closed for a few weeks for no apparent reason, but the nearer one is only closed because a Sexy Shrimp danced across it a few moments before the photo. The other polyps on the frag are all open.

If it’s been closed for weeks, could be a bacterial infection. I may recommend dosing KanaPlex just in case, or maybe a coral dip, such as CoralRX. You may also consider checking iodine levels

Looks like it might have some algae on the stem
I’d dip them in a light peroxide solution and then maybe move them to a better spot. Something clearly irritated them
