hi, new to this and from the UK. i am very interested in the relationship between zoanthid colour/growth rates and lighting. i have metal halides 250watt 250,000k and have some frags but wondered for example what frags did best low down in the tank and what ones benefit from the top?? from what iv read...blue zoas look more blue and the bottom of tanks and pinks/orages in general look better at the top. from my own experience my AOG palys look good and have spread like a weed near the top of my tank, but i have some AOI (actual name according to zoaid) and they are spreading well near the top of my tank but dont appear to be a deep blue like the mother colony was. if anyone could post their own experiences that would be great. also i have a desert storm pe frag coming 2moro...does that like intense light or lower down in the tank? thanks guys

Welcome to CZ. I would chime in and give you my opinion if I had MH. I have VHO so I place corals every which way to see if they are happy.

How big or deep is your tank? That may also effect what is considered high and low placement. Welcome to the club!!! You'lll find tons of info here. Check the spotlight. There is a good bit of information on the different types of named palys/zoas there too.
