I do not know why some zoos do good and some do not? I have some pinks and some watermelon dreams that open up full every day and never close until the lights go off. Then I have some bam bam orange that opens semi ok, but could open a little better and then I have some green death that have been closed for a couple weeks. They are in a 55 gallon with pc's. My ricordea and other shrooms and hard corals all looks wonderful. I have tried moving them in different spots with no luck. The only diference is the pinks and dreams are larger colonys of about 20 or more and the ones that do not open good are smaller colonies of about 10 polyps. The water perimeters are excellent. I figured if something was wrong my other corals would be affected. My hammer is atcually growing. It started with about 10 branches and now has over 20. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you for viewing my thread.

It's one of those things no one has figured out yet. Sometimes my zoanthids will close up for awhile and just open back up then there are times when they just close up and melt away. If you see them start melting frag away.

sometimes, zoas can get frustrating.. everything looks good but a colony decides to close up and slowly wither away... fragging and keeping back ups is a good way to make sure that you'll always your favorites.. also having back ups at your friend's houses is a great idea.. sometimes, zoas do clean themselves.. they will close up for a few days (sometimes a week or two) but eventually, they'll open up and will look much brighter... good luck with your zoas and I hope they'll be okay.. :)

btw, I'm moving this thread under Zoas Discussion so you can get more input.... :)
