Zoanthids and Alk

Morning all,

Maybe i have a strange question.
Since i run my Alk around 8 my zoanthids dont grow that fast anymore, back in the days i runned around 10-11 and they where growing really fast. Is there anything related to it ? i thought they did not used that much kh/alk for growth.
Or i am totally wrong?

hi imo 10 is the magic number 450 cal 1300 mag good to go ,considering all other params in check

Thanks for your reply! You found out yourself aswell? Or you running alk always like 10? My CA i like to run at 450 and mag around 1450-1500.

I agree , I brought my alk up from 8 to 10 and noticed a big difference in health and growth. I also started dosing Brightwell coral amino about 1 ml to 50 gal. daily and the growth really took off.
