Zoanthids average price per polyp...

Rastas and gob = $5 pp where im at.

I don't even like talking about pricing of coral, i think it's disgusting. Too many people taking advantage of it and too many people feeding the problem by paying for it.

I spoke with a highly known coral vendor and he was telling me the reason why pricing goes up is because people on social media keep talking about the pricing and how much everything is. Well, social media is all over the world and even where the corals are collected (obviously), so the people collecting the coral are jacking up their prices because they see what it eventually sells for in the US.

I have heard that by many different people as well.

The zoas that grow slow have a higher price tag from what I have seen and generally are more colorful. Also it depends on where you live. I recently picked up a 5 polyp Fruit loops for 25 bucks.

That is True but there are a ton of Beautiful Zoanthids that are not expensive that have been around for many many years.

Just like anything in this world if it is New or the Latest and Greatest it will be expensive but usually the price drops over time.

To the OP, I wouldn't suggest paying over $20pp unless its something you really really want. For example, a bowser, shazam, or even a krak.

One thing I've noticed with zs n ps, is when a new polyp comes out, it's pretty hyped and averages. $50-150pp. Then people start harvesting and the price, most of the time, starts to come to reality and closer to the $20pp range. To each their own though. Some people like to pay the wazoo price just to have that polyp before everyone else.
I like to swoop in when the time is just right.

Remember when those red hornets were running 75-100pp? Yeah look at em noww!

I agree some zoa prices are ridiculous but if you shop around you might find someone not trying to get rich off one polyp. Search Craigslist also for people tearing down tanks or frigging stock .
