Hey fellow reefers,

I know alot of people saying that zoas/palys loving some levels of nitrates and/or phosphates. I was wondering if some people experience the opposite? For me I notice whenever I do a nice water change I notice the zoa/palys looking more open and plump. Whenever I leave the tank to build up some nutrients I experience zoas/palys closed up or half opened. I just experienced not so long ago when my tank was about 2-5ppm of nitrates and slight traces of phosphates. I wish I had a picture of my seductions but before I did a water change some did not open. After WC and new chemipure it was like magic and opened right up.

Maybe this is just me but I would like to hear other opinions on this topic. It may be something else that is bothering them but just curious to hear what other people experience.

When I had no Nitrates My Zoanthids Did Terrible and Usually Died.

I Keep My Nitrates in Most Tanks at 20 and They are Doing Amazing Now.

I Do Huge Water Changes but I also Feed My Corals 3 Times a Week to Keep Nitrates Up.

Water Changes are Great but you Must Feed Your Coral Too.
