Zoapox??

I'm not sure that is known for certain. Some starters - higher summertime temps, possible lower oxygen, stresses that weaken the polyp's immune system, new polyps bringing in something foreign...

Furan 2 treatments are an effective remedy

I believe its a fungal infection on the zoas if I remember correctly.

IME, zoa fungus is a white mat that smothers the colony. Everything beneath the mat is dead due to either the fungus consuming it or depriving the polyps of O2. Pox forms in pustules which suggests that it is bacterial, viral or protozoan in nature.

That sounds awful!

Right right. Bacterial not fungal.

I got zoapox a couple times and both times I just made sure the tank quality was up to par and put them in decent flow and they recovered on their own.

Thanks guys I had zoapox and I scraped it of with a raved blade and dipped and haven't seen it back and I've been checking all the frags

Got any pics of this?

I have a frag of some zoas that look extremely wierd. Look like the zoas just closed up and kind of swelled and they have red dots on em.. No dots on the healthy zoas tho. Just on the baloon looking things.
