What alk does everyone keep for a softie/lps only tank? I've read conflicting opinions about this. Do they like it higher or lower? Or does it depend on the tank?

lol I argue with everyone on this. I stay at a solid 7.5 to 8 dkh. I just go from my experience but everyones tank is different.

I have between 8-9 but I had it at around 12-13 (not recommended) for around 3 months when i was dossing vit C because it was unbuffered and everything was fine. But every tank is different. most corals if you don't kill within the first few weeks they adapt to pretty much anything.

I don't dose vit c anymore. The months I did I notice the skimmer go crazy and my sps were doing better but everything else seemed the same. I was dosing once a day only also. I did not follow the right dosing specified by puffer.

That's a lot of water;) What lights do you run over your flats?

I have never tried Vitamin C. I use AquaVitro Fuel and love it. The corals seem to grow and look better when I use it. It could all be in my head though lol.
