I have recently saw some green bubble algae in my DT, probably came from my recent purchase and did not see it. So I was reading about ways of getting rid of the algae, one way was emerald crabs will eat the bubble algae. My question is will the crab also eat the zoas in the tank.
Thank you

I have lots of zoas in my tank and never had an issue with emerald crabs.

The answer is Yes. I had emerald destroy a few zoa frags before I caught him in the act one night when lights went out. I recommend keeping any frags on a rack until they colonize. Crabs are opportunistic.

Oh man, hopefully not all emeralds are like yours crossing my fingers that this is an isolated incident, thanks for sharing your experience with the emerald crab.

I did it, bought 15 emerald crabs for the DT and so far these guys are cleaning machines
Started eating as soon as they were released. Zoas are still intact, but these guys are super strong, I had to re-putty with glue some rubbles that these guys moved
