Zoas and palys mixing question

I know that zoas can intermingle but can palys mix in with zoas?

I'm sure they can but IME the palys drowned out the zoas so they all got dedicated spots.

I have a rock with both and it looked great in the beginning but the plays definitely drowned out the zoas. There are specs here and there but it was a takeover.

Here's a pic of one of my zoa rocks. The top ones are, I believe, palys. I just placed them there and they are not attached yet. Just wasn't sure they could intermingle.

The one on the left is mostly zoas, the one on the right has palys at the bottom and I had some bright green zoas and now you only see the Palys. If I use my top down, I can see a few of the zoas.

Pretty much any Zoanthid or Palythoa can contain palytoxin
