Has anyone had their zoas change to different colors and than successfully change them back?

Right now i have a colony of oingo boingos that are healthy and growing well but the distinct lime green that they are known for has turned navy blue and they sure aint as cool as before. Been in the tank for month and a half. My bob marley colony also lost the distinct red ring.

I run only blues led.

Not sure if this is a light spectrum issue or a light fixture issue. Should i put my t5 on?

I doubt its a par issue.

The frags came from wwc vendor at macna.
Thoughts? Anyone have this is issue resolved.?

I have had corals in general change colors when the adjust to my lighting. If you run only blues, that could certainly be the cause.

It could be a number of things; spectrum, intensity, chemistry, etc. They could also just still be settling in to their new home.
It is however possible to get them back to their previous colors, you just have to replicate the conditions of the system they were in previously. Good l

Yes, I have had zoas change under different lighting sources and spectrums and change back when the lighting was changed/adjusted.

I had a patch of super green zoas go almost completely brown after I put them in the tank. Just gave them some time and left em alone now there back to green and pretty

I agree with the lighting spectrum and par and I have had them rebound. Does anyone have any info/thoughts as to higher nitrates having a negative effect on zoa/paly coloration?

I’ve actually experienced a situation on the opposite end of the spectrum. I’ve ran an ULNS for a long time and as a result the color on all my corals (including zoas) were a little washed out. I finally decided to raise nitrates to 1ppm, and started providing them with amino acids and now they have a more pastelish appearance.
