I have a frag of prolly radioactive dragon eyes and then pallys attsched them self. Well some of the zoas have been closing up and won't open. The pallys look great and keep getting big. Well I went to move it and the pallys have grown in size and have connected to rock. All my other zoas are doing good. This is the first frag i got back in march. I started feeding phyoto plankton in hopes to feed it something. Any ideas to get them back to normal. They use to be huge also.
Any ideas or ways to get it back?

Picture would be helpful. Maybe the zoa not open because the paly bother it.

I thought that but never had a problem before. Haven't tested yet cause all my other zoas are fine. I will take a pic later today after work.

Maybe you should frag off the Palys and let them grow out seperate? I would seperate them and them dip the one's that aren't opening and see if that jolts them back to normal :)

Never fragged anything before so that could be interesting lol. Let me play newb here and ask what you mean when you say dip them?

My Bam Bams were closing for no reason once. So gave them an iodine dip and they were back to normal in 3 days. :)

I wish I could just pick them up by those pallys are growing on the tock and frag plug.... ughhh lol

Those protopaly are super aggressive. They're either stinging your zoas or covering the light for them to grow. The same thing happened to me and everything they would get close to would look just like that. get rid of them

Move the frag plug. Use a scalpel and slice through any of the paly's mat that is hanging on.

So I should just then glue the spot I scalpel?

So went and got frag kit and got glue and putty and a scalpel. Should I be able to slice the part of the pally that's attached to the rock, then be able to glue where I sliced off?

Took the plunge today and removed the palys. Was pretty nerve racking but got them off and glued them to a rock from the other tank. I did miss one. After I got them on the new rock they seem to wanna open. The other zoas a couple wanted to open but there is still a lot closed. Going to keep an eye on it and see what I can do.

Since removing the pallys they them self are doing good,Not as big as they were. The zoas are being weird , there is a small one that opens regularly and then the rest won't open. There was one that did but haven't seen in a while. The rest of my zoas are thriving. I started spot feeding them and give them a little extra. Any ideas?
