Zoas covering the back glass?

Anyone done this in their tank? Some of my zoas have migrated off the top rocks and are now starting to cover the back glass. You can see them in the top left side by the end of the overflow box. I'm really excited by this development but wonder how far they can go? There is coralline on the back glass and some film type algae that seems to feed all my inverts. I wonder if the zoas will take this food source away from my snails and urchins eventually?

Is that big red coral in the middle a Goni?

Do you have a coral tank, or a snail and urchin tank?

Many would love your problem of zoas growing on their back tank glass (or bottom)

If I could run a system without snails, I would do it

I think snails are an essential part of the biome.
 
Green nuclear death palys. Threw a frag in the back away from the rocks and the other zoas because I didn't want them growing over the "good zoas". Yup, forgot about them. They managed to reach the back and have grown across about 25% of the back of my IM 40L. Must be in the hundreds. Now I'm wondering how to remove them during the upcoming tank transfer--that's a lotta potential palytoxin...

These are on a magnetic frag rack on the back wall. The upper left side is just about ready to break the surface.

The one closest to the front glass is a red goni yes. Strangely a little frag baby of it popped up on a rock on the far left front side of the tank some months back. It has been growing there on its own ever since.

I think snails are an essential part of the biome.
my reply would be - I have a reef tank and i want every living creature in it to have the best life possible. I think the snails and urchins and zoas will work it out. You can always supplement with algae sheets on a clip. Team Zoa!
